British Academy Of Restorative Dentistry | BARD

The course will comprise of lectures, practicals, seminars and webinars. This is a two year course spread over 22 days leading to a postgraduate Diploma in Perio – Restorative Dentistry (P.G. Perio/Rest Dent) from the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry.

Year 1 (module 1) of this course is the Certificate in Restorative Dentistry (10 days)

BOTH courses (modules) must be completed in a 5 year period and you must complete 100 hours of Periodontal and Restorative CPD including these modules during the 5 year period prior to taking the examination. Exemption from the Year 1 course (PG Cert Aesthetic Dent) is available to those who have completed a one year accredited private or hospital based Aesthetic Dentistry course.

Year 2 (module 2). Topics include:

Anatomy
Root debridement
Periodontal diseases
Surgical techniques/flap design
Systemic conditions/disease and periodontal disease
Scientific literature
Microsurgical equipment and techniques
Crown lengthening
Connective tissue grafts
Soft tissue manipulation
Recession
Regeneration
Pontic design/bridge design
Treatment planning
Impression taking

Delegates will be required to write essays and portfolio their work before and successful completion of the course allowed entrance to the examination for the Diploma in Perio/Rest Dentistry. The cost of the course is £6,950 + VAT and exam fee £1,485 + VAT.
