The course will comprise of lectures, practicals, seminars and webinars. This is a two year course spread over 20 days leading to a post-graduate Diploma in Endo/Restorative Dentistry (P.G. Endo/Rest Dent) from the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry.

Year 1 (module 1) of this course is the Certificate in Restorative Dentistry (10 days)

Exemption from the Year 2 Diploma course and direct entrance to the examination is available for those who have completed both a one year accredited private or hospital based Restorative Dentistry course and Endodontics Dentistry course and who have accumulated a minimum of 100 hours of CPD in Restorative and Endodontics Dentistry over a 5 year period for the Diploma in Endo/Restorative Dentistry

Year 2 (module 2). Topics include:

Pulp biology
Biological basis of endodontics
Equipment – endodontic including rubber dam & vitality testing and general
Radiography/CBCT
Tooth/root/canal anatomy & morphology
Diagnosis/Case assessment/Treatment planning
Consent, complications & legal aspects of endodontics
Anaesthesia – local, sedation (oral & IV)
Access cavities – design & execution (demonstration microscope & loupes)
Objective of root canal preparation including patency/working length
Irrigation – types, methods & techniques
Root canal medicaments
Principles of root canal obturation – techniques, sealers etc.
Endodontic emergencies
Facial & non-odontogenic pain
Management of pain
Surgical and non-surgical treatment
Endo-Perio, Endo-Ortho, Endo-Implant interface
Trauma including management of traumatised immature permanent teeth
Resorption
Endodontics of the primary dentition
Regenerative endodontics
Non-surgical retreatment
Surgical retreatment
MTA – uses & techniques
Operating microscope in endodontics

The lectures comprise of tutorials, practicals & demonstrations. There will be critical analysis of scientific articles/ Biostatistics & Research during the course.

The cost of the course is £6,950 + VAT and exam fee is £1,485 + VAT.
